This two-hour small group workshop aims to improve students' ability to write a persuasive essay in response to the prompt and perspectives provided on the optional ACT writing section. We will discuss and perfect the skills required of an exceptional persuasive essay: adherence to the five-paragraph essay format, thorough and nuanced analysis of differing perspectives, application of rhetorical strategies, and sophisticated use of language.
